Closing stock quotes

I am wondering if there is a way to get stock quotes as of the closing time of the market. Right now, the software seems to grab the "after market" quotes when I request them. Many times, they are significantly different than the closing price of the security. That is not really what I'm looking for. I want to use these values in order to compare them to the closing prices of the major stock indices.

    Hello @drh908,

    Thanks for reaching out!

To ensure Quicken retrieves official market closing prices without including after-hours data, please follow these steps:

    1. Open Quicken: Launch your Quicken application.
    2. Access Preferences: Navigate to the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
    3. Select Investments: In the left pane of the Preferences window, click on "Investments."
    4. Disable Real-Time Quotes: In the right pane, uncheck the box labeled "Real-time quotes."
    5. Save and Exit: Click "OK" to save your changes and exit the Preferences window.

By disabling real-time quotes, Quicken will download the official closing prices, excluding after-hours data. This adjustment should provide you with more accurate data for comparing your securities' closing prices with major stock indices.

Important Note: Some users have reported that the "Real-time quotes" setting may re-enable itself after certain actions, such as performing a One Step Update or updating individual accounts. To ensure the setting remains disabled, please verify the "Real-time quotes" checkbox status after performing updates. If you notice it has re-enabled, you may need to uncheck it again.

    I hope this helps!

Go to Edit > Preferences > investments and un-check the Real time quotes box.

That will not correct prices that have already been downloaded but it should solve the problem going forward.

Please let us know if that fixes it for you.
