it even changes reconciled amounts back as far as I'm able to check. I thought I had it resolved by resetting the account but even that no longer works.

Do you have the same login for both accounts?

    If so:

    1. In each of your Chase account registers: Enter and save the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount into the Memo field of that transaction. (This is a proactive step that can sometimes help resolve account balance issues that sometimes occur when the download connection method gets changed.)
    2. Backup your data file.
    3. Go to the Online Services tab of Account Details for each account. Make sure BOTH accounts are Deactivated.
    4. Go to Tools > Add Account and try setting up Chase for downloading, again. You should then be given the opportunity to Link the downloads to the correct accounts you already have in Quicken.
    5. Check the accounts balances. If either is not correct, look at the Opening Balance transaction. If the dollar amount is not the same as what you previously entered into the Memo field, change the dollar amount to match what was entered into the Memo field.

Did this resolve the issue for you?

"the other always messes up [Edited]"

Perhaps explaining exactly HOW that Account "messes up" would help in coming up with a solution. Do you get some sort of error code, duplicate transactions, missing transaction, or what?

I'd think @Boatnmaniac 's solution might work, but if it didn't about the only other thing to add to his advice is to make sure ALL Chase accounts - including hidden and separate - are deactivated too.

Didn't correct the problem, I guess I'll have to live with it and make manual corrections as needed
