Credit card account is backwards

One of my credit card accounts changed every debit to a credit and every credit to a debit. I charge something and it subtracts from the balance. If I make a payment it adds to the balance. How do I fix this??

1st, do TOOLS, Account List and click EDIT adjacent to the account name and make sure that it's set up in Q as "Credit".

Next, what color is the BALANCE column in the account. It should be RED as in "you're in the red" meaning that you owe money.

If it's black, either you input the Opening Balance into the wrong column, OR, you've overpaid OR you're missing charges in the account.

Because, if the balance column is black, then you're showing that the bank owes you money … which is why charges are reducing the balance (the amount the bank owes you) and payments are increasing the amount the bank owes you.

SO, when was the last time that you Reconciled this account to a printed statement?

The account is under credit. But it is doing things backwards. If on Aug 22 the balance is -$100 and I charge another $30, the balance computes to $70 as if I PAID the $30 instead of going to -$130 and adding to the amount owed. It has taken me quite a while to figure out that this was happening and I couldn't fathom why I couldn't balance my account until I looked closely at the numbers and totals. Every charge makes the balance column a larger black number. It was last reconciled in August of 2022 and at that time I know it was calculating things correctly. Something changed. None of my other credit accounts are doing this.
