Currently when you create or edit a category, you can fill in other meta data like description, tax related info but it would be nice if we can customize what other meta data can be captured and maybe in the simplest form adding tags to categories. So for example while I could report on my shopping category, I might have sub-categories underneath where some are fixed budget items where every month I know I will spend $100 while the rest or others might be more flexible or non-monthly expense items. Being able to run reports off this kind of data could help simplify reports, budgets or just easier for people to think in context of what expenses or income they might have by tagging or further adding a classification without having to make a very complex category to subcategory structure that has multiple layers just to track the information you want to see.

    I'm not sure I understand the request. There are already Tags, which you can create and assign to any transaction. If you're specifically seeking a way to report on fixed and discretionary categories, there is an existing request for that:
