WT! Don’t Destroy Vegemite

As an Aussie using Canadian Quicken for Mac I was horrified to hear about the Canadian Food Authority instructing another Aussie running a successful coffee shop in Toronto to destroy and stop selling this Australian favourite spread.

Please help Leighton fight this ban and show him your support by writing to your local
Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)

Love it or hate it, don’t let this ban create a wall between these two great countries (you guys already have enough to deal with the USA).

Hint - if trying Vegemite for the first time DON’T spread it thick - it’s tastes 100% better spread thinly on warm toast with lashings of butter … yum. And when you got the taste, then start then try more.

Ever tried a Vegemite and Cheese (slices) toasty ??? 😋

Hey Mate, I'm one US citizen who's all for for Leighton Waters (who own's Found Coffee Shop's) in Toronto, Canada to sell all the Vegemite he can get his hands on. Seems Canadian health official's claim it has to much folate, a type of Vitamin B? 😯 As a matter of fact, next trip to buy groceries will request stores I use here in the Good Ole USA stock Vegemite. Why, it should be required all Canadian politician's eat a Vegemite & Cheese toasty when they drop by White House on official business 🤣 LONG LIVE VEGEMITE!

G'day, I enjoyed reading this, thank you. But I have to agree with @NotACPA as I also prefer to see the Water Cooler remain Q related since there are so many other avenues where such acquired-taste can be entertained. I'll add a touch of Vegemite to my warm toasted pop tart next time! Cheers.

I rather enjoy this post about Vegemite and posts that allow people to discuss other things than Quicken. It lightens the mood and gives a laugh for the day. @UKR post about Vegemite Pop Tarts was pretty funny.

If I ever go to Australia (which is one of my bucket list trips) I'll try Vegemite then as part of the local cuisine.

A pop-tart that tastes something like beef bouillon is definitely not on my bucket list.

@BK you're welcome. I wouldn't give the thumbs down a second thought. I have learned that sometimes they are a relief because they take the pressure off from trying to do the impossible. Getting them is inevitable.

I remember that song back in 1980's! Catchy beat! Made Billboard # 1 around 1984 or so, best I recall. Work some in radio then. Funny about the lyrics "Where beer does flow and men chunder". Best not mention what chunder means here, might get a thumbs down 😯 Anyone can look it up though if so inclined. Back in sailor boy days when we 'hit the beach', did bump into a few Aussies at the local pubs in various & sundry ports. And yes, the beer did flow and some of those Aussies, as well as a few of us swabbies, did chunder 🤪 Not me though, I could handle my liquor? 😉
