UBS OL-292-B

"Quicken is unable to complete your request as the request was invalid".
Back again and same error we experienced a few months ago. Did not learn why then, and have no idea now.

Hello @Pat Marshall,
Thanks for reaching out!
Sorry to hear you're running into the OL-292-B error again. This error typically means that the request Quicken is sending is not being recognized or accepted by the financial institution’s server.
Per our OL-292 support article, here are the recommended steps:
- Check for alerts: Before anything else, it's good to check the Quicken Community for any ongoing issues.
- Wait and try again later: If no alerts are present, we suggest waiting until the next business day before trying again, as it could be a temporary server issue.
- Refresh Quicken's financial institution information:
- Go to Help > Check for Updates
- If an update is available, follow the prompt to install it.
- You’ll need to exit Quicken to complete the update; your work will be saved automatically.
If the issue still persists after following those steps, you'll need to contact UBS directly, as the error is occurring on their end. Quicken does not have access to their servers to correct this kind of problem.
Also worth noting — we currently have an active alert for an OL-297 error with UBS, which could be contributing to or related to the OL-292 you're experiencing. That alert indicates broader connectivity issues with UBS that may be impacting multiple users.
I hope this helps!

Here is the info from the One Step Update Summary. It has happened more than 50% of the time today.

Thanks for reaching back out, were you able to attempt the steps in my previous response?

Yes, but didn’t resolve. So, I just repeatedly ran updates and after several failures it worked. I have learned that this is intermittently successful, but I’ve no idea why.

Not my financial institution, but since this happened yesterday and today, I'll add that I'm getting OL-292-B errors on all 4 of my Morgan Stanley accounts. Usually, this fixes itself when I re-run OSU, but this time, it's not.

So frustrating, I get 292-B on UBS and CC-501 on Schwab. All was ok until last night when this started. It really undermines using Quicken.

I have experienced the 292 error with UBS over the last few days.

Thank you, but I had already reported the problem prior to the discussion.

Before typing this here, I attempted it again, still receiving the OL-292-B error. This has happened over the last several days. And, FYI, just before posting this I did indeed use the “report a problem” feature.

Update error at 5:29AM ET on 4/19/25

Saturday, April 19, 1:53pm CT, receiving same error OL-292-B, and have used Quicken’s “report a problem".
This needs to be rectified ASAP, because UBS does not use the QFX file feature.
The last time I had a successful connection was 4/13, going on a week now.

FYI - My Quicken “Direct Connect” with UBS worked this afternoon.

Mine did not work this AM but it is working this afternoon as well. Also had issues with Schwab and now that is ok until it is not. I had to reset Schwab several times to get that accomplished. I also had to delete access at the Schwab website and then request again through Quicken. Whew.
