How to link investment accounts

Due to fraud Fidelity changed my account numbers on 4 accounts and logon and password. I tried deactivating the accounts and then activating. Then all the Fidelity accounts, new and closed, show up. The first account Old A shows up linked to Quicken A. New A shows up but if I pick Link to existing account, Quicken A is not a choice. If I go back to Old A and select Don't add to Quicken and then go New A linking to Quicken A is still not an option. If I click Add then I have Old A and New A in my account list.

All I want is to keep my historical transactions and just change the account number to the New A account and download!

HELP!

Tried that but….Fid physically transferred all the securities from Old account to New account. So if I use both accounts I get Removes and then Adds but have lost all cost basis which is a problem with fixed income securities. So I ran another test and if I delete all the adds and just change the account number as you said I can keep the history. As tedious as that will be I can't think of another solution. Do you have any other suggestions for me? I am running all tests on a backup so I am willing to try anything.

Fortunately the fraud activity didn't have a monetary cost but my hair is turning grayer!!!

Thanks for being so responsive so quickly.

When you're doing that connecting, any account that is already/currently connected won't be an option to connect.

You'll need to disconnect ALL of the Fidelity accounts, change their account numbers in Q, and then re-connect.

It's a good idea to take a backup before starting this … just in case. And, in Q, you don't need to create new accounts just because the acct number at Fidelity got changed, because from your perspective "Old Acct A" and "New Acct A" are really the same thing.

But since Fid transferred all the holdings into the new accts I am getting adds of securities I need to delete one by one.

Any way to get the securities to match?

Ignore the downloads. Take a backup. Disconnect all old accts from Fidelity. Change acct numbers, connect

Each us one account to you.

BTW, besides being a Q SuperUser, I'm also in Fidelity's "Private Client Group' as a customer.
