Quicken shows cash as the sum of cash and Prime Advantage Money Fund

Quicken shows cash as the sum of cash and Prime Advantage Money Fund. Then shows Prime Advantage Money Fund as separate item when viewing on 'Investing/portfolio" screen. That's confusing. When visiting the portfolio on Schwab they appear as separate line items: "cash" and "Prime Advantage Money Fund". How do I make Quicken show these as separate line items?

It sounds to me like you've told Quicken - maybe inadvertently - to treat the MMF as "cash." I've never done that as I think that treatment is dangerous, i.e., the MMF ISN'T "cash" in that's it's not readily available. You need to sell that fund and then wait a day before the cash becomes available.

I've had to reauthorize my Schwab Account for download from time to time and when I've done that I get asked the question if I want to treat the MMF as "cash", to which I always reply "No."

You might try simply disconnecting this Account from downloading, maybe go over to Schwab and remove the Account as a downloading account, then set the the Schwab Account in Quicken for downloading again. That should get you that question. Make a backup first, of course, and make sure you "Link" the Account, not "Add" it when that screen comes up.

I hadn't thought about the Schwab MMF would be shown on Portfolio View if the user treated the fund as cash. I guess that because the MMF has a ticker, where cash doesn't, it does get separated from cash in that View.

(It's not completely clear to me that if you have multiple Schwab Accounts in your Quicken file you should disable ALL Schwab Accounts from downloading and then enable all again. If you have a few more Schwab Accounts in your Quicken file then you might go that route, "just in case." No matter what the backup should save you if things happen to go sideways.)
