One step update has stopped working.

Since 5/1/2025 one step update has stopped working. There is no error but only 2 of 8 accounts have updated on one day.

I started having Update Failures 5 days ago for multiple financial institutions. I have been patient and waited but it certainly feels like more accounts are being affected. I am getting CC-800 error messages for the Charles Schwab investments, CC-500 error message for Navy Federal Credit Union and CC-506 for USAA Bank. This latest error for Charles Schwab investments says "accounts have been deleted" the error for NFCU says "error on Quicken Server" the error on USAA bank says "account may be closed"????? None of these are correct.
I am on Windows and my Quicken version is R62.16 Build 27.1.62.16.
I have not done anything different in the days prior to these events happening. The first event 5 days ago was two accounts, Charles Schwab and USAA. Each day there is another FI with the error? Recently the failure occurred at NFCU Credit Union.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello @bs29,
Thanks for reaching out!
Before continuing with the investigation and further troubleshooting, are you still experiencing issues with One Step Update? Occasionally, there may be a small connection issue causing none of your accounts to update, however, usually this resolves on it's own or through signing in and out of your data file.
Please let me know!

Same here. Most all of my accounts failed. I sent failure reports but it doesn't seem to help. E Trade, Wells Fargo, Citi, etc.

Add a 6th day and failures continue. The "fix-it"button takes me to the F I page and I reauthorize that Quicken can connect with my institution. But the next One Step Update has multiple failures again today. You ask if the failures are a result of the most recent update, and at this point I have to say that is a proximate and reasonable place to start looking.

Hi
as of yesterday, I am also experiencing the same problem. One Step Update just hanging. I need to shut down Quicken with Task Manager.
Shutting down program and rebooting the PC does not help.

The Schwab error has occurred before and been corrected before (more than once). It is a Quicken problem. They seem to have a configuration management process problem as the same error previously corrected reappears in subsequent versions..

I am still experiencing the failure of the One Step Update for Schwab 9 accounts,, USAA 4 accounts, and NFCU 7 accounts. I deactivated all accounts affected and was able to successfully reactivate and establish connections… but it failed again when I returned later in the day to execute the One Step Update.

8th Day of failures of Schwab, NfCU and USAA financial Institutions. Error Codes CC-800 for Charles Schwab accounts and NFCU accounts which is a change from previous error messages and Error Code CC-506 for USAA stating "may be because the account was closed or nickname changed". Neither of these error conditions are true. But this morning the difference is: I have transactions from all three of these accounts ….even though I have error messages!

Also have trouble with one-step update. Been having trouble for some time now. For months it has been sporadic, but now it won't update any accounts. There is also an issue with security. When the data file is first opened and "update everything" is selected, a password is required (as expected), but if only one account is selected for updating, the password is not asked for.
One-step update is the most useful feature of Quicken, if it does not work reliably, it makes this program rather useless.

Hello @DAShaw, @KJones714, @Anne Brillantes, & @QuickMKLQuick,
To assist with this issue, I checked our internal tools and can see that you are all getting account not found (CC-800) errors. To troubleshoot this issue, please backup your Quicken file, then follow these steps from this article on CC-800 errors:
First, you'll need to deactivate the affected accounts:
- Select Tools > Account List
- If present, select the Show Hidden Accounts checkbox at the bottom of the Account List
- Select Edit on each account with this error and Deactivate them on the Online Services tab
- When finished, close the Account List.
Second, reactivate the accounts:
- Select Tools > Add Account
- Complete the flow of re-adding the deactivated accounts to Quicken, using your bank login credentials and answering any security questions.
- When you reach the screen listing the accounts discovered at the financial institution, use the Action drop-downs to re-link your accounts:
- For accounts you want to re-link, select Link to existing account and choose the corresponding account to re-link with.
- Select Add to Quicken for new accounts you didn't previously track in Quicken.
- For accounts you don't want to link or add, select Don't add to Quicken.
Please let me know how it goes!
The issue you mentioned with One Step Update hanging is a known issue. To be notified of any updates, once available, and know when the issue is resolved, I recommend that you bookmark this Community Alert:
Hello @Reid,
I can see in the log files that you submitted that you're having an issue with your financial institutions not reflecting on your One Step Update Summary screen. Are the financial institutions updating?
I look forward to your reply!

Quicken says it has downloaded transactions, but no new ones appear. This is with multiple financial institutions. (I am having numerous problems with Quicken and posting in different threads - not sure if they are related or not.)
In any case, there's no real reason to renew my Quicken subscription if I can't download.

Same, one step update no longer working. Says it's updating, no error & no transactions download. Frustrating to say the least. Seems like I sometimes spend more time trying to figure what quicken (or some connection update) is doing wrong than I do managing my finances with quicken.

For a couple of days now, Schwab accounts are not updating. Quicken reports error CC-800, but there was nothing that had changed on my end (no accounts had been deleted, no restoring from a backup file, etc). The "Fix It" solution, which requires the re-authentication of the Schwab accounts, doesn't work either: after the accounts are re-authorized, connection times out.
I'm running Quicken R62.16 on Win10.
Frustration …

One step update not working for some accounts - no errors, just no transactions downloading.

Yes, same here. Seemed to have started within the last week.

I was having the same problems with multiple accounts. I contacted Navy Federal Credit Union and was told to clear my cookies. This did work but I had to go in and log into accounts again and relink them.

Same thing happening to me. This is [Removed - Language]. I have deactivated online banking for a major bank with three accounts- checking 1, checking 2, credit card. I then readd the online banking services and the accounts at the bank map in the dialog to the existing accounts. I then try to download transactions. No new transactions download though there are transactions in all 3 accounts.

New circumstances this morning: I executed the One Step Update and had transactions from all my accounts delivered. Transactions were delivered and matched in my registers for NFCU, and Schwab.
But… I still got CC-800 errors for NFCU and Schwab investments with the same error message about accounts deleted. But the transactions were delivered
So I am using the instructions in this thread from Quicken Kristina to use the tools menu to deactivate all the accounts from the two financial institutions. I will update this thread with my results

Still have failure at Schwab with CC-800 message. The activation activity reconnected all 9 accounts with a successful indication, but the update is still not working.

I have a suggestion, Quicken should return to using Direct Connect for as many banks, credit cards, financial institutions as possible. This method has been 100% reliable. Express Web Connect is fraught with failure after failure. on 5/6 I had to reconnect all my Web Express accounts. This happened about a month ago, so is there an issue with some monthly limit? This is a very laborious process when you have several accounts linked to One Step Update. Your user base is speaking, perhaps you should listen.

I am still encountering the CC-800 error message and the One Step update is still failing for Schwab and NFCU. I have sent a problem report after each failure with all the log data hoping the tech teams find a solution?

I too am still facing the CC-800 error. I did send a problem report with all the files Quicken is asking for.
I want to stress: I have been running the same Quicken version (62.16) since it came out. There were no issues with Schwab, until a couple of days ago. Absolutely nothing had changed on my end to warrant the abrupt failures to connect and update from Schwab.
Is anyone working on it?

EDIT Nope - the VPN isn't the problem.
I'm not entirely sure, but my VPN may be what is causing my transactions to not appear (although quicken says they are downloaded). Results are spotty, (turning it off sometimes helps) but I'm not sure turning off a VPN for financial data transfer is a good solution. My other problems continue, with or without a VPN. The problems at the moment are dragon's teeth. With one solved, I have to run to the internet to find the solution for the new one… (Reauthorizing Schwab auto-switched it to "simple" tracking which made my register disappear. More time devoted to troubleshooting.)

Hi
Always verify whether your VPN is enabled or disabled. Some banks, such as Truist and certain HSA accounts, impose restrictions (aka not allowing) on automated uploads when a VPN is active. These institutions have increased security measures to track the origin of data transfer requests.
If you're experiencing issues, try disabling your VPN, uploading your transactions, and checking again to determine whether the VPN is the cause of the problem.

Yes, did exactly this, and the VPN was not the problem. No downloads from Schwab with or without the VPN. (I did get a download from Northern Trust, so at first I thought I solved the problem.) Also is not solving the USAA problems.

I am curious. I have a LOT of accounts. Why is it I must reconnect them all because QUICKEN messed things up?
