Amount invested for ROI calculations incorrect esp when securities transferred between accounts

I have posted this before but never solved the problem.

The ROI % calculations continue to be incorrect, especially if the position was transferred between the two dates The Amount invested for many securities does not match the value of the position on the beginning date chosen in "Show return calculations from date " under portfolio preferences, even though the correct date of purchase and cost are included in the "added" box.

For example, I bought 1000 shares of EFRN at $12.30 a share in 2020. Dividends were not reinvested.

On Feb 19, 2025 the position was worth $32,130 and the shares were moved to another account on 3/10/2025 ( with the correct dates of purchase and cost included)

Today in Portfolio, the ROI calculations for the period 2/19 to 5/08 show an ROI of 42% with the Return of $19,160 and Amount invested of $44,760.

Any body have an answer. In general, even without moving securities between accounts, I have found the ROI calculations to be unreliable. Using IRR is accurate, but this only gives a yearly return, not shorter periods.

The ROI% is based on the "return" from transactions in the register. When you use "Shares Transferred Between Accounts" Quicken puts in "Remove Shares" in the "From account" and "Add Shares" in the "To Account". In the "Add Shares" is puts in the cost basis, which allows for the cost basis to be correct, but does nothing for the missing transactions for calculating the return when trying to do calculations for "return" in the "To Account".
