split transactions - Tags has been removed

Quicken changed split entries on their early May '25 release.

Prior to this release, when keying a split entry, like a credit card billing, there were 4 columns/entries for each of the split entries: Category, Tags, Transfer and $amount. i used the Tags column for vendor. This allowed me to search for credit card charges from a specific vendor. This column, "Tags" is no longer available when keying split transactions. Like many users, I have a handful of credit cards. Each credit card is paid monthly, for a total of 60 postings. If each posting has , let's day10 catagories, that's 600 transactions or postings.

THE PROBLEM WITH WITH THIS:

If I need to find a posting for, say a warranty issue with vendor XYZ, there's now no easy way to find that posting, because it's no longer possible to key in XYZ. To restate: XYZ is not there.

THIS PROGRAM CHANGE MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE?

In order to see the tag column when entering a split transaction it needs to be visible in the register. You can't have one without the other anymore.

Do you only use tags on split transactions? But never on a non-split transaction?

As @Jon said, you need to have the Tags column visible to have it in the splits window. If you really don't look at the Tags column, I'd suggest you make it as narrow as you can, and then drag the column header to the far right of your register. This way, the Tags column is out of your way and won't really change what you're used to.
