Empty "Update" created when Quicken closes.

Options

For the last several weeks, every time I close Quicken Deluxe 2025. regardless of whether I back it up or not, Quicken creates an empty file called "Update". I have always had an Update file which I use when I back up Quicken.I have used validate and super validte in an attemt to fix the error, but everything registers okay. How can I stop the creation of the useless empty Update file?

What folder does this file appear in and what is the file type?

C:\Users\User\Documents\Quicken\Backup. It appears as a completely new file in C:\Users\User\Documents\Quicken where the backups I have created are stored.

It is an empty read only data file.

I never have an "update" folder created in that path.

Sorry. If I had any idea, I would have said so. I was waiting for somebody else to come up with ideas.

If you haven't done so already, please contact Quicken Support on the phone during posted hours of operation (after this holiday weekend). Let them share your Quicken windows so they can see what you are talking about. Maybe they have an answer to your question …
