How to repair a problem caused by Quicken.

I started this morning, balancing multiple accounts on Quicken. I was off by $200 even. I felt it was an error with an entry when I made a deposit or deduction in the wrong column, but could not find the issue. After working with a Quicken tech and the supervisor I have now lost 5 total bank account registers in quicken. I have both both personal and company records that have been lost, and I must reinstate the data. How can I get a competent supervisor to help me repair all of this damage. This needs to happen quickly as I am due to present the records next week.

The easiest way to recover from an issue like this would be to restore a recent backup of your data file.

thanks, that is where we apparently made the error. We used the most recent date but I then was given a message that 5 different accounts had been deleted from quicken

Gee @tom.mriatl, so sad you lost your bank account records. I sincerely wish I could be of help, but freely confess I don't have the technical expertise. Hopefully some others on this blog can lend a hand; some are very good at offering great advise. I had a 'small' business I ran for a good while before retiring. I used Quicken Home & Business back then. I also lost some records occasionally, but managed to rebuilt them through online back-up or through paperwork I kept just in case online back-up failed. Of course, mine was a 'small' business as mentioned. I was the CEO, Supervisor & employee (only one, as a matter of fact), so I only had myself to blame when things cashed & burned 😟 Respectfully, I wouldn't use any software program exclusively, especially if working for anyone other than yourself. Tad to risky. Good luck. Sincerely wish you get your information recovered.

@tom.mriatl did you try going successively back through each backup until you found one that works?
Also, do you use Web & Mobile? Is SYNC turned ON? If so turn sync off and try to restore the backup again.
Another thing to try is instead of restoring a backup file, remove the backup extension (-backup) and then open the file.
