Problem re-adding AMEX as a eBill.

I just converted from Windows to Mac. I finally leant how to setup my month credit card bills t show up in "projected balances". but I messed up some of my credit card eBills so I removed them and tried to re-add them. Re-adding worked smoothly, all I had to do was select the issuer (in this case I had 2 Chase visas, 1 Wells Mastercard, and 1 Amex). The visas and Mastercards added with just a couple clicks and it showed up in Bills & Income and Projected Balances automatically.
But for the AMEX, I keep getting this pop-up. and I know my log-in is correct because I tried both reconnecting my AMEX account in the register, AND use the "add new login" option in the screenshot and the log-in worked fine. But when I click "Continue", I get this pop-up.

Hello @Adience,
Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to Quicken for Mac! I know switching platforms can come with a bit of a learning curve, so you're definitely not alone — and I appreciate all the detail you’ve provided, including the screenshot.
From what you're describing (and the message shown: “There are no available accounts to add”), it sounds like Quicken is recognizing your Amex login but thinks that the associated account is already linked as an eBill — even if it’s not showing up in your Bills & Income list.
Let’s dig in a bit to see what might be going on:
- Just to clarify — is the Amex account still linked to your Amex banking connection in the register (i.e., downloading transactions), and it's only the eBill that's missing?
- Did this Amex eBill previously exist in your Windows file before converting to Mac? If so, it may still be tied to the account behind the scenes.
- In the Bills & Income tab, do you see American Express listed at all — possibly in a disconnected, errored, or partially linked state? If so, click the dropdown next to it and select “Remove” or “Unlink eBill.”
- Open the account register for the Amex card, click the gear icon ⚙️ > Edit Account, and check if there’s any sign of the eBill connection still present (sometimes you’ll see “Online Bill” or similar language in that window). If so, try disabling or removing it there.
- After doing the steps above, completely quit Quicken for Mac (Command + Q), reopen it, and try to add the eBill again via Bills & Income > + (Add Bill) > Online Bill and search for American Express.
Sometimes leftover metadata from a prior link — especially after a platform switch — can confuse Quicken into thinking the bill is already connected.
Let me know what you find, and we’ll figure out next steps from there. You’re on the right track!

hi @Quicken Jasmine as I alluded to on the post, my plan is to fix my Windows version and do a brand new conversion to mac because I had multiple data issues (mainly in investments) on the mac version. hopefully I get the time to do it this weekend.
I will post here if I run into trouble with AMEX again.
thanks for the follow up.
