Change in transfer/bill reminders in register?

Running latest (Quicken Windows R63.19) and I have a bill reminder that is set up to enter automatically at 3 days before due date in the register. My recollection is that I was able to manually enter the bill before that reminder date make changes to the bill amount, etc. Today when I tried to do this the only options I now have are

  1. Skip this one
  2. Edit this instance and all future instances
  3. Delete this instance and all future instances

I was expecting to see "Enter this reminder" so I could enter it and update the amount (it is changing for this one bill period only).

Did it change in recent releases?

@rackerjoe this probably means that there is another reminder for that bill that is scheduled but not entered, before the one you are looking at. Only the first instance of a bill reminder series can be edited into the account register.

The Skip/Edit this and all future/Delete choices are the ones we have had all along for auto-entered Reminders.

"Remind Me" reminders have a longer list of choices - Enter, Mark as Paid, Link to Biller, Skip, Edit this instance, Edit this and future, Delete this and future

I don't think that has changed.

@Jim_Harman the Edit is missing from the reminders. I see what @rackerjoe is saying. For auto payments, the only options are "Skip this one" and "Delete this and all future instances". If more than one reminder is listed for the bill series, then for the subsequent reminders, the only choice is "Delete this and all future instances".

It looks like if you hit "Edit" it does "Edit this and all future instances" but there is no where to Edit just the next upcoming bill reminder.

@CaliQkn I checked and there is not another one scheduled but not entered (monthly bill due on June 20th).

I can confirm that the options are missing from any bill reminder with "auto enter in X days". I could have swore that this was a feature but I definitely could be wrong. Still - it would be nice to be able to enter/edit the next payment in this case…

@rackerjoe I agree. It would make sense to have the ability to edit the next upcoming reminder before it's auto posted. I think it is cumbersome to have to "edit this and all future instances" to edit just the upcoming reminder.

"Auto enter" reminders never allow you to make a change to the next instance of the reminder BEFORE it is entered into the register.

If you need to update the amount because it always changes every month (like a credit card full balance payment), you should change the reminder to "Remind me [xx] days …". When the reminder shows up, you can enter the reminder and make changes as needed while doing so.

If the reminder always uses the same amount every month, but the amount needs changing for all future amounts (because, e.g., your cable TV rate was raised), "Edit this and all future instances" to make the change and you're OK to leave it as Auto Enter reminder.

@UKR understood. In this case it is a regular bill with a fixed amount except in this one instance the bill amount changed due to an insurance policy modification. I'll just wait until it is automatically entered and then make the adjustment.
