SchoolsFirst FCU Forrils? Download and Reinstall to Fix a Small Verification Error?
SchoolsFirst has been asking me for a verification code the past couple times I have logged in. This is unusual behavior, it suggests that their server isn't "recognizing" me as a returning customer. Trying to access the SchoolsFirst Web site with a clean browser will require the same 2FA procedure.
So I decided to reach out to Quicken Support via chat to see if I could get some help with this.
The rep basically told me I was going to need to reinstall Quicken to fix this problem.
In all the years I have used Quicken— more than 25— I can't recall ever needing to do that to fix a problem. It is a huge ask, I have literally dozens of accounts that would need to be reconnected. The guy was like "yeah I can't escalate this unless you do what I am asking."
Tried calling, talking to a human was impossible, the connection was horrid. Is this for real?

Hello @932Scooter419,
Thanks for reaching out.
I was able to review your interaction with Quicken Support. Please know that this agent did provide you with incorrect instructions, and I have sent this information over to my team for further review and proper coaching.
I was also able to review the internal connection with Schools First Federal Credit Union, and I can see that you are receiving an FDP-185 (CC-585). Below you will find instructions that should hopefully assist in reaching a resolution. It is recommended to save a backup before proceeding (just in case). You can also find these instructions and more information in this Support Article.
A CC-585 usually occurs because your financial institution has added a new security feature that requires your attention before your account can be updated. This could be a new verification step that needs to be completed on the financial institution's website.
Instructions
Ensure you are on the latest release for your version of Quicken
- Select Tools menu > One Step Update.
- Click Update Now.
You can also check for an update by going to Help > Check for Updates.
Refresh your online account information
- From your account register, select the Actions gear icon at the very top of your register (Ctrl + Shift + N).
- Select Update Now.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
- Repeat these steps for each financial institution experiencing this error.
Visit your financial institution's website
- Sign in to your financial institution's website.
- Navigate to the page where you view your account information.
- When you encounter the new web page that requires your response, fill out the requested information and dismiss the screen. If you have the option to not display the page or ask you again, select that option. If you do not, the error may continue to occur.
Note: Some financial institution websites may have this new security requirement located in your inbox or message center.
Please let me know how it goes!

Appreciate your help with this.
This problem went away, so possibly SchoolsFirst fixed something on their end, even if they privately said it wasn't their fault.0 -
I should add, I am still getting a CC-506 error with them on one account. The download still collects transactions, and following the procedure stated in the article failed to resolve the issue. This has been ongoing since before I posted the OP above.
We have more than a few accounts there, and inevitably any Deactivate/Reactivate cycle has to be repeated two or three times before all the accounts are successfully reconnected. No idea why.0
