Is it now easy to use Quicken Classic for office and home computers with same database?

Ever since the Quicken application was re-programmed to use one data file instead of a myriad of files in a folder, it's essentially no different than working on a Word, Excel, Notepad, etc. file on multiple computers. Simply copy the data file to a thumb drive. You could access the file from the thumb drive, but it would probably be a little slower than copying it to a location on the local C: drive and accessing it. Don't forget to save the edited data file back to the portable drive for transport.

Alternately, upload your file to a server and then copy it to a local drive before accessing it. You would be advised not to access the data file directly on the cloud server sync folder. It'll work until it doesn't leaving you with a headache to repair it.

RalphC thanks for the quick answer. I, though, want to use 2 computers seamlessly like they do for QuickBooks and I do with my ACT! database.

Does the new Online Backup they are offering me work in this fashion? Or is it the same as the "cloud server sync folder" you were referencing that could cause problems?

No, you cant use two computers with Quicken seamlessly. The database that is behind Quicken only supports one user at a time.

To avoid crashes and data corruption, you must ensure that two copies of Quicken do not try to access the same data file at the same time. See this Support article https://www.quicken.com/support/can-i-share-my-quicken-file-between-multiple-computers-using-dropbox/
