Change in behavior when opening MEMORIZE TRANSACTIONS list from a register entry

Using the new QFW R63.19 release on Windows 11. It used to be when I highlighted an entry in the (checking) register, then clicked on MEMORIZED TRANSACTIONS, the window would open to that one or the nearest alphabetical if that exact one was not already in the list.
Now I see in the new MEMORIZED TRANSACTION window , upon its opening, it no longer opens to the highlighted entry. Since I have a lot of memorized transactions, a pain to then have to scroll down to the matching entry. Was this change intentional, or a new bug introduced in the display?

Hello @AndrewQ,
Thanks for reaching out!
Just to confirm my understanding, before the R63.19 update, when you highlighted a transaction in your checking register and opened the Memorized Transactions list, it would scroll directly to that payee (or close to it alphabetically)—is that correct? Now, after updating, it always opens to the top of the list regardless of what was selected in the register?
I have just a few more questions to help narrow this down:
- Is this happening consistently across all registers, or just your checking account?
- Does it happen for all types of memorized transactions, or only ones with splits, transfers, or specific categories?
- When you open the Memorized Payee List directly from the Tools menu instead of the register, does it behave any differently?
Also, did you install R63.19 via automatic update or manual patch? And were there any changes to your preferences or columns right before you noticed the shift?
Looking forward to hearing what you find.

Yes, your understanding is correct. So to be clear, in a register, I focus on a particular transaction, then hit "MEMORIZED TRANSACTIONS" in the tools menu, and the MEMORIZED PAYEE LIST opens, consistently at the top of the list.
For your specific questions (and I am not the only one who has this issue, others in the Quicken USENET User Group also noticed this as well).
- Is this happening consistently across all registers, or just your checking account?
—→ All registers. I tried "BANKING", "INVESTING", and "PROPERTY AND DEBT" categories - Does it happen for all types of memorized transactions, or only ones with splits, transfers, or specific categories?
—→ As far as I can easily tell, all types of transactions. - When you open the Memorized Payee List directly from the Tools menu instead of the register, does it behave any differently?
—→ This one I am not sure what you're really asking. If I open directly, then it to does open at the top, but I'd expect that since I am not highlighting any particular transaction to 'jump' to from within a register.
Hope this helps!

OK, I created a new account as to use totally fictitious data, and submitted it under the name "Change in behavior when opening MEMORIZE PAYEE list from a register, take 2" along with an explanation in the description that can be read to re-produce the problem in that fictitious account.
