Add “P” (Pending) Status Option to Clr Column for Better Tracking of Unposted Transactions [Edited]
In and about the "Pending issue". Would it not be possible to add a "P" code to the "Clr column". Once you figure out what your financial institution is doing you can manually manage it from there. My FI is giving date of posting and also a "pending value". At least get everything to post whether creating a negative value for some and not others. We could clear the items as necessary. Pending lies somewhere between "C" and "R" if you get what I mean. right now with credit cards work fine beacause they are a furture debit transaction. R means paid and charged against "Balance". Pending is neither.

Took a while to find this. Have been wanting the same thing for a long time. Finally got around to asking for it. Should be straight forward to implement.

A CLR status of "c" means that it has cleared the bank … so that wouldn't be "pending"
A CLR status of "R" means that it has been included on a statement that has been reconciled, again "not pending".
"Pending" would belong BEFORE "c", so I fail so see how it differs from " " (blank).
I'd vote against this, if that were possible, as it seems needless.

I don't understand this request at all.
As @NotACPA pointed out pending is before cleared, not the other way around.
I will note that blank could be different than pending. If I write a check and enter that into Quicken the field is blank. It doesn't change to pending until that check hits the bank. The pending is the state between when the bank first sees it, and when they clear it. And just for completeness R for reconcile is when you verify that your transactions match what the financial institution has.
But unless someone is doing this purely manually and is actually going to be looking at the status on the financial institution constantly to pick up that it hit the bank and changed to pending but not yet cleared.
I think Quicken give more than enough, in fact better indications of pending than a P in the CLR field.
You have the option to show pending transactions or not.
Clearly if the pending transactions aren't included then there isn't a transaction to put a P in the CLR field.
Past that if one chooses to include the Pending transactions and has the transactions going directly into the register it looks like this:
I think the Pending status and the icon are plenty good for telling this is a pending transaction.
In the case where the person isn't using the option to put the transactions directly into the register you get a Pending Transactions tab at the bottom of the register. In this case, you don't even have a CLR field to put P into. If you accept the transaction into the register is now you saying that you are manually inputting it and want it to be matched when the transaction is cleared and downloaded. And the very fact that it is in the Pending Transactions tab is pretty clear of what it is without a P in the CLR field.
