I provide tech support for my father-in-law. He is currently using a version of quicken for windows from before you needed to renew the license. He is going to move from windows to mac.

  1. can the data from a very old version be imported to quicken for mac?
  2. feature availability. He manually enters his transactions (doesn't trust auto download) and then uses reconcile capabilities to manually match to his statement. Is this functionality available in quicken for Mac?

@5whys (1) How old is the old Windows version? I believe Quicken Mac will import any Windows version from 2011 and beyond; if it's older than that, you would likely need to see if there's a way to update the data in a more recent version of Quicken Windows (the 2013 version is available for free) before migrating it to Quicken Mac.

    (2) Yes, you can absolutely enter transactions manually and reconcile your account(s) to your statement(s) in Quicken Mac.
