Bug in lending loan creation

Quicken classic windows Vresion R63.21 Build 27.163.21 : when I convert an asset to a lending loan it defaults the funding of that asset to come from same account ie "[asset]" . If i try to change the source of funding to a transfer from another quicken account all of the loan payment details are lost: ie principal, interest, due date etc. This is a new problem that did not exist before.

    Hello @Mark248,

Thanks for bringing this up — I’d like to dig in a little deeper to help pinpoint what’s going on with the lending loan setup behavior you're seeing in version R63.21.

Just a few clarifying questions to start:

    1. When you say you're converting an asset to a lending loan, can you walk me through the exact steps you're taking? Are you right-clicking the asset or using a specific menu option?
    2. When you attempt to change the funding source, are you editing it within the original loan creation screen or after it's already been saved?
    3. After you change the source account and the loan details vanish — do they disappear immediately, or only after you click “OK” or save the changes?
    4. Is this occurring with any account you attempt to use as the funding source, or just specific ones (e.g., a particular checking or investment account)?
    5. Have you seen this issue consistently with new loans only, or does it also affect any existing loans if you try to edit them the same way?
    6. Lastly, are you syncing this file with Quicken Cloud or using mobile/web access at all? Sometimes sync behavior can impact how data sticks.

    Let me know!

Just wondering … Is this setting (see image) enabled?
If it is, does disabling the setting make a difference in how Quicken reacts with respect to the problem you reported?

  • FWIW, I was able to create a lending loan and change the funding account without any issues. The loan terms remained intact. Also, I do not have subscriber settings enabled.
