In Register using default all dates setting breaks the view

In Quicken for Windows I am finding that the entries get all jumbled up. Sometimes an entry is overwritten and I see duplicates. This is hugely annoying.
And … When I edit a manual or uncleared (or pending) transaction it is not matched, it is just cleared out. This breaks two things. One, I have scheduled transactions I enter every month and it neither matches those nor does it keep the categories which have been entered. Second, when I edit a pending transaction that information is blown away when it is cleared.
It sems that Quicken is going backward instead of forward. All the neat "features" for investments don't help if basic functionality no longer works as it always has.

@krlee if you haven't done so already, try doing a data file validate or super validate. It's a good place to start troubleshooting data file issues -
Click on File → Validate and Repair file, and the select "Validate file". Review the validate log for any error messages.
For a super validate, hold Ctrl-Shift when clicking on "Validate and Repair file".
