Since when is Sign In required to open Quicken? Not update accounts but just open the app?
It occurs when something happened to cause the Quicken installation and your online Quicken.com account to get out of sync with each other.
If this is happening frequently, you might want to try doing the following: Edit > Preferences > Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts > Sign in as a different user > Yes > Sign Out > when prompted, sign in using your current Quicken ID and PW. Doing this will reset your Cloud Account so your Quicken installation and your online account are in sync, again.
