Hello @James Koski,
Thanks for sharing the details.
From what you describe, it sounds like Quicken isn’t saving the updated amount when you edit a manual bill reminder — instead, it’s defaulting back to zero once you click Done.
A couple of clarifying questions that might help narrow this down:
- Is this happening with all manual bills you try to edit, or just a particular one?
- Are you editing from the Bills & Income tab or directly from the Calendar view? Sometimes the behavior differs depending on where the change is made.
- After the change, does the zero amount also show up if you open the reminder again, or is it only showing as zero in the Calendar display?
This will help figure out whether it’s a display glitch or if the reminder itself isn’t saving correctly.

Hello @James Koski,
Thank you for providing more information.
Based off what you described, I believe this may be a data file issue. To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.
Validate:
- File
- Validate and Repair File...
- Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.Super Validate:
- File
- Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
- Super Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps!
