Quicken versus Fidelity

Just talked to my Fidelity reps about my downloading errors. Is it true that Fidelity is pausing downloads via Quicken because of unresolved problems? Perhaps Quicken should stop telling me that I have to re-authorize my Fidelity accounts and come clean. Also why is Quicken trying to access my closed company 401k accounts via Fidelity's NetBenefits system? I did transfers years ago. Fidelity has to keep those inactive accounts for tax reasons but Quicken should not be downloading them. Just spoke to Quicken rep today. His solution is that I individually update my investment accounts separately. Some of us have more than 1 investment account so for now One Step update is USELESS. Quicken work with your financial service partners to safely and securely download our money changes. This better not happen during 2025-2026 personal tax or December when the stock market reports end of year dividend and interest statements.

Go to each Quicken account that you are no longer using, including any hidden accounts.

Click on the gear at the top right.

    Select Edit account details.

On the Online Services tab, click on the Deactivate button if there is one. That should prevent Quicken from requesting reauthorization or transactions for that account.

Neither Fidelity nor Q are pausing downloads. I download from Fidelity via "Scheduled Updates" six days a week, including just this morning.

Quicken is no longer downloading transactions from our Fidelity Visa (Elan); however, it does indicate the online balance. Since all our accounts are with Fidelity, it may be time to explore alternative financial programs.

I never accept any Quicken update for at least a week after it comes out. I watch these discussions to see if any Quicken problems would affect me before I allow Quicken software to make any changes. Because of what I've been reading, I'm still on R63.21 (QWIN classic premier), and any time Quicken tells me to reauthorize my Fidelity accounts my response is HELL no.

As far as I can tell my Fidelity accounts (trad rollover IRA, Roth IRA, HSA, and very inactive brokerage account) are downloading normally through OSU, again, using the old system of downloads, not the new one.
