9/25/25 Override to be able to see Money Market Accounts as Security in Quicken for Windows
With this new release (R64.30), Quicken made changes to the way Cash Balances and Money Market Funds are handled. Specifically, "Core" cash funds include (SPAXX), a Government Money Market Fund, and (FCFXX), a California Municipal Money Market Fund.
Since these securities are now being shown in the Cash Balance, they are no longer shown as a security. Customers who wish to continue to see these balances as positions can override this to see it as a security. Follow the steps below:
- Go to Preferences
- Click on the Download Transactions option on the left side
- Put a check mark on the option that says Never Interpret downloaded Money Market funds as Cash
Note:
- This setting affects all accounts, not just Fidelity Accounts.
- This feature doesn't take effect until after the next transactions are downloaded.

Thank you!
