Lock This Report not working when new accounts are created

I know there was a discussion about this recently but I can't seem to find it. I have multiple reports saved (mostly just basic transaction reports), and I have selected "Lock This Report" in all of them, yet every time I create a new account it gets added to several reports automatically.

What I've noticed is that it seems to only happen when I create a new Account and it's specific to reports where I chose selected categories in the Categories tab. If I create a new Category, the reports are not affected. If it's a report where I left the setting to include transactions with ANY category, the reports are not affected.

The particular transactions that errantly show up in the reports are also transfers. Maybe there's a disconnect with the Lock feature that doesn't account for those?

If it's only Transfers to or from those new Accounts that you're seeing then that is governed by the combination of the "Transfers" setting under the Advanced tab of the customizing screen AND the selection or exclusion of Accounts under the Categories tab.

Transfers between Accounts can be shown in both the Income and Expense areas of Spending Reports depending on those settings and as I've not used the "Lock" feature in my saved Reports I don't know if locking a Report should make it completely bullet-proof to being affected by the creation of a new Account.

Thanks Tom, yep that's what I'm trying to figure out. In the past I'm pretty sure the Lock feature prevented any changes unless you manually went into the report and made adjustments… and that was regardless of if you created new accounts or new categories. That's why I'm wondering if the transfer aspect has something to do with it (since the issue only seems to be happening with transfer transactions related to the newly created accounts). Maybe there was an update in the last year or so that affected how the feature works.

I'd think that if Lock is somehow automatically adding Accounts to Saved Reports you'd notice the difference in some setting of your original customization, either that Account showing as "selected" under the Category tab or some change to to the settings of Transfers under the Advanced tab.

    Have you seen that happening?

Yep that's what happens every time. I notice the new account and transactions in the report, then open the customization settings and see the new account has been automatically selected. Once I spot the account in the category list I can easily just deselect it and re-save the report but the whole idea of the Lock Report feature is so you never have to do that. I also have reports with a longer list of categories selected and with those I won't notice if something was added behind the scenes and of course that throws off the numbers for the report.

I haven't noticed any changes in the Transfers options in the Advanced settings but I've also always left that on the default setting.
