Bank of America Downloading Errors
BoA recently changed their downloading process, which I was easily able to manage through Quicken. Fortunately, I back up my files before any major changes or new connections. The downloaded file stated it download transactions for the last 5-6 days and the downloaded transactions matched my entered info. However, the current balance swung positive by over $10,000 as some transactions in the past were obviously impacted. I restored my original file, printed BoA transactions through 9/1/25 and reconnected again. The same issue occurred. I check the transactions through 9/1/25 and all were correct. However, I cannot go back through over 10 years of transactions to correct the issue.
Any ideas on how to resolve the issue aside from manual reconciliation?

Sometimes when changing/updating the connection method, the Opening Balance dollar amount gets changed. You might want to take a look at that and see if that is what happened and correct it if it did. (FYI, if you have not already done so, you might want to enter and save the Opening Balance dollar amount for each of your spending accounts…checking, savings, credit card, etc….into the Memo field of that transaction. Then if/when it does happen in the future it is very easy and fast to know how to correct it.)
Another thing that sometimes happens when changing/updating a connection method: Duplicate transactions are downloaded into the account registers. Scroll backward through the register looking for duplicates and if found delete one of the transactions and retain the other. Generally, if this issue has occurred the duplicates will be present within the last 90 days or so but you might need to look back further than that. That means you should look back further than 9/1/25.

Thank you so much. The opening balance changed, which was easy to remember because it was originally $0. I appreciate the help.
