Why does One Step Update take more that one step?

Time was when I selected One Step Update and a dialog box would appear into which I would put my vault password and select update and the update would start. Now, after entering my PW, and selecting update, a second dialog box appears so that I can select or change which accounts to update (or do nothing) and then select update now for the update to start. Why this change?

Thanks. I'll live with it. Perhaps some programmer at Quicken will spray some Raid on it and kill that bug

I can't explain why you are being asked for the supplementary decisions in OSU without actually seeing it happen, but "one step" refers to doing all of the accounts in one consolidated process versus each account separately as was the previously available process of downloading a QFX file from the financial institution and then importing it into the correct account, repeating that process for each account.
One step has nothing to do with the number of mouse clicks it takes, which other users have complained about in the past.

That exact thing started happening to me several years ago. Out of desperation, I tried restoring backups. As it turned out, restoring the backup from 3 days earlier fixed the problem and it hasn't happened since.

This problem has been reported by many people over the years without any kind of resolution.

Well, something changed and changed recently. (I have been using Quicken Windows for over 30 years and before it changed, I never had to use the second screen to start OSU)

It is a bug that hits some people. No one has ever figured out what causes it.
