Quite a few suggestions and complaints!
Ver R65.30 Build 27.164.30 Windows 10
Why should Quicken DOMINATE my desktop while running a task, PREVENTING me from running other software? I should be able to move or minimize Quicken to effect access to the rest of my computer.
Why does Quicken "select all" transactions under "search/replace" when I want to modify only a few, and then find out I want to modify the replace (or search) options. I did NOT ask for that and it wastes time to undo the UNAUTHORIZED action Quicken took. Quicken exists to SERVE, not DICTATE what it thinks "is best for the user". A user might give the green light by mistake, they're tired, have trouble seeing, not expecting to be MICRO-MANAGED by Quicken, etc. No "undo!" That could be an UNMITIGATED DISASTER!
Why can't we do plenary modifications to category and tag fields (and perhaps memo fields) so they cover split transactions? Often they may be similar mods, for example, entering the same account or tags for all categories whilst monitoring credit card purchases for paying next month's bill. As of now, I must go into each transaction and change them line by line. INEFFICIENT!
I have an unused account in Fidelity that I keep for record purposes but IT IS NOT TO BE UPDATED. However, Quicken INSISTS on updating it despite my removing the update settings. I now have a "ground stop" making me pick "reauthorize" to effect update (completely ineffective) or "wait until next time" (NOT AN OPTION for me)-just move on! Like a lot of things it came up suddenly. How can we convince this Quicken program to do what it's told to do?
I am tagging reports for budget planning. Reports from split transactions apparently not showing tags which map onto an associated credit card transaction. I'd like to see that.
Need to enable "enter" of >1 "scheduled/overdue" ("clock" or "clock!" motif) transactions. Otherwise we can't edit these en masse.
When displaying any "search/replace" or "to edit" result, the displayed results should scale column width to a default including the some number of characters in payee, memo or notes field of said result. That is, it's silly to have "cleared status", "select", check/ref number occupying 15 characters when they only occupy one, or perhaps 6 or 7. Saves time for user. Could make it as "preferences"
Why is the field, "Notes" inert, unsearchable, unsortable, and un-editable? We use it to augment "memo" field, which IS both searchable AND editable. Plus :Notes" is a much bigger field than "memo".
Will it be possible to get a specific edit to correct words or phases in a field without changing the whole darn thing? Quattro and Excel do.
Why is "account" not included as a search argument? It can lead to much shorter searches instead of these marathon readouts that enable me to vacuum and mop the house as it runs.
Might we see nested/complex Boolean searches, like Excel/Quattro and dBase II-V (or later) do?
Example: "Search for {[date >=11/23/2021 AND <=10/05/2025] OR [date >=11/23/2015 AND <=10/05/2017]}",
Why must "cleared status" be listed first in a list of a multi field replace operation? If it is not, the replace button becomes disabled.

We're other users and can't answer "why" type questions … because we don't know either.
BUT, Q doesn't dominate my desktop. I have no problems running other apps along side it.
Q doesn't force you to select all. It's quite easy to pick which you want to change.
If you don't want an account updated, simply disable it from download. That's entirely in your power.
