Recording RMD in Quicken Classic Deluxe Windows

This is an update that happened mid-2026. When I was recording a transfer from my IRA to my checking account I always used "xout" in my IRA as my transfer code.

I already had the Tax Schedule in my IRA as "1099-R:Total IRA taxable distrib". It would not show on the tax schedule.

The new transfer code is now "WithdrwX" which is Withdraw and Transfer. This now records the transfer as a taxable distribution that will appear on your tax schedule.

    Thanks for the update.

Could you elaborate on this please? How exactly are you entering the transaction - from the dropdown menu in the IRA's Transaction List (Register), by clicking on Enter Transactions in the IRA, using a Reminder, or what?

Are any taxes withheld from the distribution? If so, how and where are you recording them?

My experience is that there has been a change in this area in the past few years and if no taxes are withheld by the IRA administrator, you can now enter the transaction directly in the IRA and it will be captured directly in the Tax Planner and Tax reports. If taxes are withheld, you must still enter a split Deposit transaction in the taxable account.
