Fidelity changes
I'm on Quicken Classic version R64.35 Build 27.1.64.35. With this new way to connect to Fidelity there are many ways to screw up pulling data over from Fidelity. For instance, both my wife and I have Fidelity accounts that I track, but I have to constantly reauthorize my wife's connection to Fidelity. In so doing, I inadvertently tied one of her accounts to a closed and hidden account in Quicken and now cannot change it, so every time I connect Quicken to Fidelity and reauthorize my wife's login, that account is pulled out of the hidden accounts and placed in my active accounts and updated. If I do not reauthorize her login, I cannot update our joint accounts. Would appreciate hearing any thoughts on how to resolve this.

Suggestion:
If you go to the Online tab in the Account Details of the hidden account and deactivate the connection, that should allow you to go to the proper account's Online tab in its Account Details and reconnect and relink it during the authorization process. During the authorization of the Fidelity accounts, make sure to unselect the hidden account in the list of Fidelity accounts to authorize and select the proper account you want to link.

Some financial institutions allow for only 1 EWC+ access at a time in each unique data file to be set up. I haven't heard that Fidelity does this but from what you've posted it sounds like maybe it does.
You might want to consider getting you set up with Authorized Access to your wife's Fidelity accounts. Once completed you will be able to select all of the accounts for both of you during the reauthorization process using just your Fidelity login. This is what I have done with my wife's accounts and it works really well downloading all of our accounts in just a single OSU process.
To set this up:
- Log into your wife's Fidelity.com online account.
- Go to Profile > Settings and more > Authorized Access (under Relationships) > Add Access > then select the type of account access to be granted to the other person and follow the prompts to grant you Authorized Access to her account. (There is a nice chart there showing the different levels of access that can be requested.)
- I believe you will need to do this for each account individually.
I suggest selecting the Full Authority option because it will work well with granting the needed access level for the reauthorization and OSU processes (and almost anything else). And it will be very easy and relatively fast since it can easily be completed in less than a day. Additionally, it will then let you do trades and other actions with her accounts on her behalf without needing to log out of your Fidelity account and then log into her Fidelity account.
Instead you can opt for the Power of Attorney access level which is the most comprehensive one but that requires completing a form, printing it out, signing it and getting it notarized and then faxing or mailing it in. So, not so fast and for most things I've found the Full Authority level works just fine for almost all account activities.
I do not know if the Inquiry Access or Limited Authority access levels will provide you with the necessary reauthorization access but you could try that first to see what happens if you or your wife are not comfortable with either the Full Authority or Power of Attorney access levels.
Once the Authorized Access request has been approved by Fidelity you will need to make sure all of your wife's accounts in Quicken are deactivated and then do Add Account for Fidelity Investments. The reauthorization process using your Fidelity.com login should then allow you to select both her and your accounts for downloading. Make sure to carefully Link the downloaded data to the appropriate accounts that are already set up in Quicken.
Let me know if this helped to resolve the issue for you.
