Circle & Slash-Quicken Premier Will not keep Link with Schwab investment account
I have been having trouble keeping my Windows 11 Quicken Premier Investment Accounts linked to my corresponding Schwab investment accounts. In Quicken my investment accounts appear with the Circle and Slash to the left of each account and when selected drives through the reconnect to Schwab process but fails to link the quicken account with Schwab and shows me "Do Not Add file to Quicken" in the pull down menu but no other pull down option is available (link to file or Add file or Do not Add file). So this is a fail. I go back to the Quicken account and deactivate from downloads all the investment accounts and go through the set up procedure but to no avail. I have tried entering the Quicken Account list to edit each investment account to deactivate then reactivate only to find success with one or two files but then something breaks and the circle with a slash shows up to the left of all the investment accounts. Arggggh!
I am not an active day trader or options trader so I don't have many transactions to input manually, but I would like this file to work. BTW the Quicken file is very long in the tooth, since 1994. I have validated the file and clean-up a few years ago. But this circle slash problem is since the end of October.

This alert here:
may be playing a role in your problem even though your problem is different than what's reported here.
The circle with a slash is more closely associated with a a CC-800 error discussed here:
What should work (hopefully) would be to disconnect every single Schwab Account in the file, making sure that even hidden Schwab Accounts are also disconnected.
Then, going to the General tab of each Account erase both the Account Number and the Financial institution shown there.
Next, start the Add Account process, specifying Schwab as the FI. Quicken should find all accounts at Schwab associated with the user name and password. Then you carefully LINK those accounts to the correct Quicken Accounts.
It has also been suggested that before doing all this you go to the Schwab site and remove the third-party authorization for the accounts.

Thank you, Tom.
It seems to have worked this time. Removing third party access from my Schwab profile was new and erasing the account and account number from the general tab were new steps I had not tried previously. I will have to wait until December 1 when my accounts have transactions for sure. Still I am grateful for your experience and taking the time to address my concern with simple steps toward a solution. BTW two of the five accounts have posted new transactions, so I am hopeful 🙂.
