Split Transaction

Hello Community,

I open Quicken Classic every weekend, to import, review and reconcile transactions. Recently I'm finding that after importing transactions, a number of past and reconciled SPLIT TRANSACTIONS are breaking. For example:

WELLS FARGO: $500 expense

Correct Split:

Categorized as: SPLIT

  • [Car Loan] $300 (reduces car loan principal by $300)
  • Car Loan Interest Expense $200 (adds to this expense line item)

Broken Split:

Categorized as: [Car Loan] $500 (reduces car loan principal by $500)

Is this a recent, known issue with Quicken Classic? If so, is there a fix? Note that I've run the VALIDATE AND REPAR FILE function various times and this hasn't helped.
