Fidelity HSA transactions still not downloading (Ticket 1999090)
The Fidelity HSA transactions are still not downloading as of Nov 10. Is there any update on Ticket 1999090? Thanks.

Hello @ayeo,
Thank you for posing this question.
No, there is no update on that ticket, and currently no indication from Fidelity that they plan to change the way this is handled.
You can bookmark the Announcement to be notified of any changes. As of now, there are none in the works as far as we are aware.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

@Quicken Alyssa Just to be clear, prior to the EWC+ conversion, investment transactions in Fidelity HSA accounts, including dividends from ETFs and the core fund FDRXX , were sent to Quicken and were recorded correctly. I would certainly hope this functionality will be restored as soon as possible.
Are you saying that there is nothing Quicken can do to facilitate this, and if we want it back we users must put whatever pressure we can on Fidelity?

Thank you for adding to this discussion.
The issue is with how the information is sent to us from Fidelity. Fidelity does not send transaction descriptions for these accounts. Because a transaction description is a required field, these transactions cannot be processed. Fidelity is aware, and at this time, has not provided any information or dates on whether they plan on changing this or not.
In the meantime, we recommend that you manually update cash balances for your Fidelity HSA accounts in Quicken. I don't think it would hurt to contact Fidelity and ask them if they have any other information to provide.
Thank you!

@Quicken Alyssa
Thanks for your response. Do i understand correctly that Fidelity is not sending the Transaction Description on HSA accounts, but are including the Transaction Description on other investment accounts such as IRA, Roth and regular brokerage accounts?
It does seem strange that a required field would be missing since ETF and mutual fund transactions are the same regardless of account type.

That would be correct. HSA accounts are the outlier and the only ones affected by this, as far as I am aware. I agree it is strange.
Hope this helps.

I'm left wondering why we're seeing different behavior with different account types. (HSA transactions not downloading, 401(k) transactions with amounts having the wrong sign, etc.) It seems to me that the basic transactions should work the same no matter the account. I fear Fidelity has some engineers who are not top-notch.

It's not just a question of cash balances. All transactions (buy, sell, dividend, etc.) would need to be manually entered.

Another piece of information. I converted to EWC+ at the end of July and my HSA was working fine until 10/3 (8+ weeks) then just stopped downloading. It has not worked since. Is it possible that Fidelity CORRECTLY converted the HSA accounts at the end of July then 8 weeks later broke it? That seems real weird. Are we really sure Fidelity went from HSA working under EWC+ to then changing things so that HSA's no longer work? Really?

@Quicken Alyssa My HSA accounts have very little activity, but after converting to EWC+ on 9/27 I did have some dividends that downloaded correctly between 9/30 and 10/3.
So like @bmbass EWC+ was working with my HSA account for a short time.

Hello All,
Thank you for providing additional context. I understand why this situation has been confusing.
What you’re describing, HSA accounts downloading correctly for a short time after the EWC+ conversion and then stopping, is certainly unusual. However, the dates you mentioned appear to be before the official alert was created, which suggests that this may have been when the decision was made that these accounts would no longer update. That’s only speculation, though, as the information I have shared is all that’s been provided to me.
It seems the initial EWC+ conversion temporarily allowed some HSA transactions to download, but Fidelity’s system does not include transaction descriptions for these account types. Because transaction descriptions are required for Quicken to process the data correctly, once the system tried to download transactions missing that information, the process could no longer complete successfully.
So, it’s not that the accounts “broke” after previously working; rather, the data Fidelity sends for HSA accounts simply lacks the required details that Quicken needs. This limitation applies specifically to HSA accounts; other account types, such as IRAs, Roth IRAs, or regular brokerage accounts, are not affected in the same way.
At this time, Fidelity has not provided a timeline for any change, so the only option is to manually update HSA transactions in Quicken. We also recommend reaching out to Fidelity directly if you’d like more insight or wish to share how important this functionality is to you.
I know this isn’t an ideal situation, and I appreciate your patience as we continue to monitor for updates or changes.
Thank you.

@Quicken Alyssa I followed up today with Fidelity Tech Support and their answer is less than encouraging -
"At this time, Fidelity has not provided a timeline for any change, so the only option is to manually update HSA transactions in Quicken."
@Rick8 I hope you get a better answer from Fidelity's HSA team.
