Trouble Updating to 8.3.3
In trying to update to version 8.3.3 (on macOS 26.1), I'm given the option to install the update in the Applications folder or the "current" folder. When I choose the Applications folder, I get a message that says, 'You can't save the file "Quicken
(803.58902.100) " because the volume "DF33498F-5B9D-462B-B842-DE97FB3066DD' is read only.
When I acknowledge the message the installation ends. I never had the choice of folders before. I want Quicken in the Applications folder, so not sure how to proceed. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I try to update and it goes through the motions, but doesn't update. I do not see an error code. The version stays at 8.3.2 and keeps prompting me to update. Done it about 5 times. Will not update

@barryi @Sital I don't think the link above will help with the problem you describe, since you've already tried to download the update. Often, when Quicken gets stuck in the sort of update loop you're describing, there's a pretty simple work-around. Open your Applications folder and drag the Quicken.app to your Trahs. Do NOT empty the Trash so you can put it back if you need to. Now go to quicken.com and log into your account: click the Sign In link in the upper right, and then the My Account link on the left side of the next page. This brings you to the "Welcome to your account" page. At the bottom, under the Downloads heading, click on Quicken for Mac. Follow the instructions to download and install the Quicken app. If this works, then the older copy in your Trash can be deleted next time you empty the Trash.

Thanks @jacobs. I will file this away, but I did not need it. After sleeping on it, I decided to quit Quicken and do a restart (classic first step when something stops working). And the update worked! Just like it has for years - I have been using Quicken since the 90s.
Here is one bit of info that might have contributed to the problem. My Mac did an automatic update (15.7.2) overnight before the problem occurred while the Quicken window was open. So the prompt to enter the Quicken password was waiting for me yesterday when I started work. It gave me an error and wouldn't load, so I quit and launched again - and that was when it wouldn't update.
I've seen something similar with Firefox open after an update. So I am gong to turn auto update off and make sure apps are closed before a MacOS update.
Thanks again for taking your time to help. (Now if Quicken and Fidelity would work out the connect issues.)

You posted this in another thread and I responded there. Could you clarify if you are updating the current Quicken Mac app on your computer or if you are trying to install a newly downloaded copy of Quicken. Do you use Dropbox or iCloud for storage? Do you use an external drive or network file server for storage?
