Change Quicken backup date
I should know this but at age 88 I forget some things. How do i change the data file backup date? When I perform a backup, it defaults to 2024 (D:\Quicken 2024-R-52.20.QDF-backup) and I have to select the current backup date (D:\Quicken 2025-R-52.20.QDF-backup)

It looks like "Quicken
2024-R-52.20" is the name of your Quicken data file. If so, that is what Quicken uses as the default name for the backup file. The safest way to rename your data file is to go to File > Copy or Backup File and select Create a copy or template. The downside of this is that you will have to reconnect your online accounts. Make sure you use the new file going forward.

I would just go to the data file location with Windows Explorer and rename your existing data file to something like qdata.qdf. Launch Quicken and use the File menu to "Open Qucken File…" and highlight qdata.qdf.

For a simple renaming I would certainly do it like @RalphC suggests, just make sure that you close Quicken before you do it. Also, also a quick way to bring that data file up in Quicken after the renaming is just double click the data file in Windows File Explorer.
