PNC bank upgrade affecting Quicken downloads?
.
PNC again not downloading transactions today. "QUICKEN cannot connect to the internet" is given as the reason! About 6 hours now. Really???!!!!!
I am getting error OL-297-A error as well today…. “Unable to connect to the internet” with a red globe. I keep trying and on the 3rd or 4th try it connects and completes. I have seen this intermittently over the last 6 months. I think the problem is something different and unrelated to the last few weeks. I don’t think it’s a PNC issue. Fingers crossed. :-)
Hello @Rick8 & @charlieo.Hemlock,
Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. If you haven't already done so, please start troubleshooting by following the instructions in this article on OL-297 errors: https://www.quicken.com/support/error-when-using-online-services-ol-297/#section-windows-0
Please let me know how it goes!
Thanks for the tip. I saw the article earlier. However, the issue comes and goes, at least with my Windows 11 install that has worked flawlessly for two years with Quicken. I did close the program and reboot. No difference. After 2-3 tries Quicken connects and completes. Personally, I think this is a Quicken connection/server issue (as the article suggests could be the cause). It’s odd that more than one person is seeing this issue at the same time (for it to be a user system). I hope people don’t start changing firewalls and/or TLS settings until we see if it clears up on its own…. as it has for me in the past.
Just my thoughts.
I am not doing anything to try to fix this…… This is a Q problem, again. I sent Q the info from "Something is not working" button, files screenshot, etc. I find it funny Q cannot connect to the internet. Any Co. worth it's salt keeps a second vendor to connect. As @charlieo.Hemlock said, this has been going on for months with various accounts, not just PNC. Most of the time I ignore it, but this time being PNC I felt it warranted to let Q know.
My son uses Schwab checking and says he sees the OL-297-A error intermittantly too. I am sure Quicken at some level has logs that show the connection issues…. but it can't hurt to make them aware.
