There are both Windows and Mac desktop versions of Quicken.
There are also both Windows and Mac web versions and Mobile versions.SO, what type of device(s) are you using and did you download the appropriate version?
And, how are you going to the bank's website? From your desktop, or from a mobile device?

The iPad and iPhone apps are not Mac apps, those devices don't run Mac apps. Both devices run the same mobile app.
That app isn't designed to be used by itself, so if you're not already using Quicken on a PC or Mac you're setting yourself up for potential problems down the road.OK, I see you're using a Mac also.I don't know how a bank would see connection attempts from the app - since those requests will be via the Quicken Cloud it could show up as either Windows or Mac I suppose.

What financial institution? And what connection type are you using? Web Connect/QFX file, Direct Connect or Quicken Connect.
As far as I know Web Connect/QFX file isn't possible in the Mobile/Web apps. And Direct Connect accounts shouldn't be prompting you to go to the financial institution's website. That basically leaves Quicken Connect, and the only reason you might be prompted for anything would be MFA and I don't think that would be done by going to the financial institution's website, more like a text or email.
The way the Mobile/Web apps work is they are basically the GUIs for accessing the Quicken Cloud dataset on the Quicken server. The Quicken Server periodically polls the financial institutions for the transaction information (and in at least the web app you can request it do such a request). Those transactions are stored in the Quicken Cloud dataset. When you sync on the Mac the Desktop data file is being synced with the data in the Quicken Cloud dataset.
Even though the Windows and Mac Quicken Cloud datasets are kept separate, the Mobile iOS and Android apps are the same for both. And of course, the web app is the same.
