Ability To Re-Arrange Any or All Columns In A Register on Windows (Just Like in Mac Quicken)
I have been a Quicken user for over 30 years. I started out on Windows but moved to Mac around 2015. In the Mac version of Quicken I could easily drag and drop columns into the order I wanted them, yet as I just moved back to Windows 11 on a new laptop, I am disappointed Quicken Windows can't do this simple task the Quicken Mac can. Community discussions pointed at old code issues on Windows version vs Mac but in a subscription model, that is a lame excuse. Get this done as it shows you are disconnected from your users needs / wants / concerns…

GeorgeG1955,
Your comment is a bit sharp, but to the point. I've always used Quicken Windows, thus I didn't even consider what you outline that a Q Mac can do. I had mostly assumed that the two versions were staying in lock step, obviously not. Keep the ideas coming, the developers need to be reminded that the users should expect very similar Q features across all platforms.

PLEASE make it possible to rearrange register columns. Thank you.

There is missing context here.
- Quicken Mac was rewritten with a "standard API list" for the register. Quicken Windows' register is a highly customized list based on a very old API.
- The Quicken Mac developers from the start of the rewrite made the decision to keep the register as much as possible "native". And have resisted requests that would cause it to become "customized". There is a long-standing request for Quicken Mac to have a two-line register like Quicken Windows (and the old Quicken Mac), which has been rejected for this reason. They have also resisted putting in the "Downloaded Transactions tab". Quicken Mac's downloaded transaction go directly into the register similar to the "Automatically add to banking register" preference in Quicken Windows. Also, reconciling is done in the register in Quicken Mac, unlike it is done is Quicken Windows' reconcile window.
- So, what might be trivial to do in one version of Quicken might be next to impossible in the other.
- The design goal of the rewrite of Quicken Mac was to make "Mac like product, instead of a clone of Quicken Windows". So, by design these aren't going to be in "lock step".
Note Quicken Windows does have a very limited ability to move columns. "Show date before check number" and "Show memo before category".
