Downloads from LPL stopped working
In late November, my routine download of my investment accounts from LPL Financial stopped working. Error says LPL does not use the right format (I don't have the exact wording), but nothing changed as far as LPL is concerned. LPL generates a QFX file, but Quicken does not accept it. I've tried various methods as suggested by Quicken Community with limited success. Most alternatives end up being only Simple, thus I have no register and cannot view my transactions. Most recently, I got the error in the screenshot below.
I am using Windows 10 on a laptop. I have reverted to an earlier version of Quicken (from 65.17 to 64.30 without an improvement.
I need a fix.

Hello @wjcaldwell,
Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. To help troubleshoot, please provide more information. Are you seeing any error codes, or just the error message about an incorrect format? Have you tried importing the QFX file as though it's for a new account, instead of linking to the existing? Sometimes, doing that helps when there's something specific to the account preventing successful import. If LPL gives the option on their website, have you tried choosing a slightly different options when generating the QFX file (such as a different date range), just in case it's an issue with the specific file they are generating? Have you contacted LPL about this issue?
There is currently a known issue with QFX files not importing into Quicken for Windows, however, I don't think you're impacted by it, since the error message you describe is different. I notice the screenshot you intended to attach is missing. If possible, please try posting that screenshot again (please make sure to redact any personal information). If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.
I look forward to your response!

I wanted to add to this, as I've been tracking down this issue since I started having an issue back at the end of August / beginning of September.
I use Quicken Classic Premier and have always been able to use LPL's "Export for Quicken" option to grab the QFX file and have it imported without issue. While the QFX file still gets pulled into my downloads folder, it no longer automatically imports the data into Quicken, and when I try to File → File Import → Web Connect (.QFX) File… the Import window that pops up does not recognize the QFX files in the directory. I've checked to make sure its looking for the correct file type, and the properties of the files are all correctly listed as .QFX.
Is there any other options for importing this data? It appears that all the file type and information LPL is providing is correct, but that Quicken's import options are no longer recognizing the file type. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Hello @PBrann,
Thank you for sharing your experience. To help troubleshoot, please provide more information. When did you first notice this issue with Quicken not recognizing QFX files to import? Does this happen only with QFX files from LPL, or does this happen with any QFX file you try to import?
Have you tried navigating to the QFX file directly and double clicking on it? If you haven't done so, I'd recommend trying it, since that should prompt Quicken to import the file.
I look forward to your response!
