I Have classic, but I'm thinking of downgrading.I only do it for a personal checking account.Would that be an issue.
It shouldn't be an issue — but it depends on which features you currently rely.
Here’s a simple breakdown to help you decide:
These features sometimes exist in Quicken Starter, depending on the version.
Some of these are disabled or limited in Starter/Deluxe, depending on the edition.
If you ever let the subscription lapse, Quicken Starter turns read-only, meaning you can’t enter new transactions at all. If you want to keep using Quicken even if you stop paying, don’t pick Starter. Deluxe and above remain fully usable (minus online services).
Hello @pike1018,
Thanks for reaching out!
Just to clarify, are you referring to Quicken Simplifi? If so, it’s important to know that Simplifi is actually a completely separate product from Quicken Classic, not just a lower-tier version. Because of that, it isn’t a traditional “downgrade.” In this case, we recommend reaching out directly to Quicken Support, since our support agents can walk you through the differences between the two products and help you switch subscriptions if you decide that’s the best fit.
If you’re referring to something else, Quicken Support can still help review your current setup and ensure you’re choosing the right subscription for your needs.
Thank you!
And just to add, you can't migrate your data from Quicken Classic to Quicken Simplifi. (You might be able to export your transaction register from Classic and see if you can import that into Simplifi.)
