Portfolio View Cash Balance Not Correct

I have an investing account in Quicken. The amount of cash balance in the Account View is correct. However, the amount of cash shown for that account in the Portfolio view is not correct. I know that the current data in the portfolio (stocks, funds, etc.) is correct … with all the current investments shown, all the current number of shares shown, and all the current market value shown … all correctly.

The cash amount at the bottom of the portfolio view does not match the cash in the investment account view (which is correct). I'm sure there's some distant past error that I made, but I'm not interested in hunting it down. I simply want to change the cash amount shown in the Portfolio view ONLY … without changing the amount of cash in the Investment Account.

Is this possible? If so, how?

Thanks!

The first thing I would do would be to back up your data file, then go to File > Validate and Repair file and choose the Validate file option. That may straighten things out.

If not, you can force the account to recalculate by going to the account and hitting Ctrl-Z.

Please let us know if one of these works for you.

And another thing to try is if you can nail down exactly the date that the cash balance went wrong, delete any and all transactions that occurred on that date and re-enter them manually.
