airing of grievances

Things that worked, but now don't or can't even add new accounts:

Bank of America, P2 credentials, haven't touched a damn thing…but now in FDP-350 jail. So sad. Doom loop of 'Reauthorize' and shaming me that I can't type my username or password correctly. Sad Santa.

SoFi. Adding a new account. P1 accounts have been fine for a year. All Santa wants to do is add a second account. Mrs. Claus loves her SoFi account. Nope. According to Quicken, neither Santa nor Mrs. Claus can type the username or password correctly for this one site on the internet. So, 2 months now, and we still can't add a SoFi account.

Target Credit Card… last seen functional on August 12th. Months gone by. Elves are busy working away, but Santa still can't get Quicken to connect.

Yes, Santa has deactivated, reactivated, restored backups, unplugged my modem for 10 seconds, restarted my cable box, and double checked that I can both type and copy/paste.

Santa is asking for functionality for Christmas—just a little.

    Hello @NitDawg (or Santa 🎅),

Thank you for laying all of this out—I know how exhausting it is when multiple connections stop working at once, and I’m sorry you’re dealing with all of it simultaneously. I’ll break things down by each financial institution so we can move forward clearly:

    Bank of America – FDP-350

FDP-350 indicates that the security token has expired and needs to be refreshed through reauthorization. Normally, clicking Reauthorize and completing the prompts resolves it, but some banks temporarily throttle connectivity, which can cause the loop you’re seeing. You can find more information on this error in this support article.

Here are the recommended steps to fully reset the connection:

Step 1: Deactivate All Accounts in Quicken

    1. Go to Accounts > Hide and Show Accounts and ensure no Bank of America accounts are hidden.
    2. Open each Bank of America account register.
    3. Click the Settings gear in the bottom-right corner.
    4. Navigate to the Downloads tab and select Disconnect Account (repeat for each Bank of America account). image.png
    5. Quit Quicken.

Step 2: Remove Credentials from Keychain

    1. Open Spotlight (small magnifying glass in the top-right corner). image.png
    2. Search for Keychain Access and open the app.
    3. On the left panel, select Login, then choose Passwords at the top.
    4. Search for Bank of America and delete any entries that say "Quicken password for [your insert username] at Blank Financial Institution".
    5. Quit Keychain Access.

Step 3: Unlink the affected Financial Institutions from Quicken on their Websites

    1. Log into your Bank of America accounts online banking website.
    2. Navigate to the security settingsprivacy settings, or connected apps/accounts section (the wording may vary).
    3. Look for any references to Quicken or connected third-party apps.
    4. If Quicken is listed, select it and choose the option to revoke accessremove, or stop sharing data.

Step 4: Re-add Accounts in Quicken

    1. Reopen Quicken.
    2. Go to Accounts > Add Account.
    3. Use the search field to locate the financial institution, then click Continue.
    4. Follow the prompts to sign in using your login credentials.
    5. If Quicken finds your accounts, use the dropdown menus to link them to the correct accounts in Quicken.
——SoFi – Unable to Add New Account

For SoFi, since this appears specifically when trying to add a second account, I’ll need a little more detail so we can see exactly where it’s failing.

Could you please provide a screenshot of the error you’re receiving when adding the new SoFi account?
This will help determine whether it’s a credentials loop, an aggregator block, or a separate SoFi-specific connection issue.

If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

——Target Credit Card – Last Worked in August

While checking your account, Target is currently returning an internal FDP-103 error. This error generally means the financial institution is rejecting the credentials, or older credentials are still stored somewhere in Keychain (similar to the steps provided above for Bank of America, except without the need to unlink from the financial institution website).

    Here are the exact steps:

    1. Deactivate Target in Quicken

    • Settings gear > Downloads > Disconnect

    2. Remove old logins from Keychain

    • Open Keychain Access
    • Login → Passwords
    • Delete any entries for Quicken / Quicken Connect / Target

    3. Re-add the account

    • Accounts > Add Account
    • Search for Target National Bank specifically
    • Enter credentials and link existing accounts

You can also find more information on error FDP-103 as well as these steps in this support article.

If the issue continues after these steps (for both Bank of America and Target), you will need to contact Quicken Support directly to take a closer look and escalate if needed.

I know you’ve already tried a lot (and I appreciate the humor in the midst of chaos). Each of these issues has a different root cause, so tackling them one by one is the best way to get everything functioning again.

If you can send that SoFi screenshot, I can take a closer look and move forward with that part as well.

    Thank you!
