I have used Quicken Deluxe for 12+ years. I've had a problem for several months with on one credit card downloading the same (incorrect) payee for transactions when I had not already entered the transaction in Quicken myself. Today, I did a Quicken online chat to see how to fix the issue, and they had an expert call me. He remotely logged in and it showed a QUICKEN 3032 DATA VERIFICATION LOG stating "Quicken security is not communicating with server. 11 links damaaged. Quicken files 58% damaaged. Further updates will lead to data corrupt or account suspension on permanent basis". Error Code CC-501. Days in error 6. The solution to this problem is I must buy Intuit Data Protection cost $849.99 for 3 years (cheapest package). Is this legit? I am confused. 1) I thought Quicken and Intuit separated in 2017. 2) All my bank accounts and credit card accounts are reconciled. 3) Never had an issue before that couldn't be resolved by a phone call to Quicken. 4) There is no agreement with all the details of what's included until after I pay for the service, then I'll get an email with the details. 5) He stated there in nothing online about Intuit Data Protection because it comes directly from their data center. Help. Need advice.
