One of two USAA credit card accounts doesn't download
I'm using Quicken Classic vR65,17 on Win 11 Pro. My wife and I have separate credit cards at USAA. I download all my accounts weekly. My USAA credit card transactions download properly, but my wife's account doesn't. This has been going on for a couple of months. Both CC accounts have been authorized in Quicken several times, but her account simply doesn't download to my PC, where Quicken lives. This year, I have had more USAA issues than in the previous 20+ years I have used Quicken, and it's getting to be more of a burden than it's worth.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work?

Hello @lkalmus,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am happy to help!
I have some follow-up questions for you.
- You said this has been going on for a couple of months.
- Were all accounts updating successfully before that?
- Are you using one or two sets of credentials when connecting these accounts?
- Do you use a separate set of credentials to add your wife's accounts?
- Are you the owner of your wife's accounts, or are you an authorized user?
When using Express Web Connect +, which is the connection method that USAA uses, you must be the owner of the accounts you are adding. So if this is a situation where you are adding your wife's accounts/authorized user accounts, and your own, all with one set of credentials, you could resolve this by adding her accounts with her credentials, and yours with your own separate set of credentials.
Looking forward to your response.

Thanks for the info Alyssa. We have separate credentials. I am an authorized user. I allowed Quicken transactions at USAA from her PC but Quicken lives on my PC and doesn't update her account. I can log into her account from my PC and was thinking I should authorize Quicken that way.
My purpose for using Quicken has been to have all our accounts in one place so I can see everything combined like I have been doing for a very long time. Each login uses the credentials normally used to log in by web browser. I can log into her USAA account from my PC which requires telling USAA at login time that I'm her, not me and confirming her ID by a secondary code sent to me via phone.
This problem started sometime early in 2025, maybe in the spring. I didn't notice it at first but periodically I check balances and found the problem then. In 2024 and prior, I didn't have this problem. She got her USAA card about 3 1/2-4 years ago but early on there were no issues and it seemed to process like any of her other cards.
I hope this answers your questions. Please let me know if you need more detail.

Thank you for providing that additional information.
I have some troubleshooting steps that may help us resolve this issue. Since your accounts are working, and the issue is with your wife's accounts that have a separate login from yours, try the following steps with her accounts.
- Create a backup of your Quicken file first.
- Deactivate all USAA accounts in Quicken.
- Select the Tools menu and select Account List....
- In the Account List, select the account you want to deactivate, and then click Edit.
- In the Account Details window, click the Online Services tab.
- Click Deactivate next to the service you want to disable.
- Click Yes to the message confirming if you want to disable this service. Note: If you do not receive this message, additional information is available below.
- Click OK to the confirmation message.
- If you have an investment account that is linked to a cash account, you need to deactivate the online services from the investment account, which will automatically deactivate the linked cash account.
- Important: If you are deactivating/reactivating an account to fix an issue, you'll need to deactivate all the accounts with the affected financial institution that you have activated in Quicken (including hidden ones). Once they're all deactivated, then you can follow the steps to reactivate.
- Revoke Quicken’s third-party access from USAA's website.
- Reactivate the accounts in Quicken.
- Go to Tools > Add Account.
- Select the bank for the deactivated account(s). If prompted, select the connection method.
- Enter your credentials and click Connect.
- When the list of located accounts appears, choose LINK next to each account you want to reactivate.
- Click Next, then Done on the last prompt.
Let us know how it goes!
