Balance adjustment due to a pending transaction

I'm getting a balance adjustment based on a transaction that is not in my register yet but shows up as a pending transaction. Is there some way this can be fixed?

    See if this helps

    *click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the register

    *select "edit account details"

    *select "online services"

    *Uncheck "reconcile using online balance"

    Now Quicken should reconcile to the statement balance you enter, not the bank’s live balance (which includes pending items).

    This sounds like the widely reported issue with Bank of America accounts, where the downloaded Online Balance includes pending transactions but the pending transactions have not been downloaded.

    What I do as a workaround in this case is to click on Finish Later on the Reconcile window rather than accepting any balance adjustment. Usually within a few days there will be a day when there are no pending transactions and the reconcile will balance.

    I generally follow the same practice as mentioned by @Jim_Harman because I most definitely do not want to resort to reconciling to statements. For me reconciling to the online balance is a huge benefit of working with Quicken.

    But something else to look into: Do you have Pending Transactions enabled for that account? If so, when you next see this happen or if you see that the Online Balance and the Account Balance are not in sync with each other, click on the icon just to the left of the Online Balance below the Account Register. If there are pending transactions included in the Online Balance then this may give you the opportunity to have them excluded from the Online Balance. However, you need to be careful because if the Online Balance is correctly reflecting the online posted balance but the discrepancy is caused by a transaction that has actually posted but is not yet downloaded as posted then it will not fix the discrepancy.
