Move from Quicken USA to Quicken Canada

I started using Quicken when I was a US resident many decades ago. I now live in Canada but still use Quicken USA. This causes problems due to tax differences, inability to download Canadian investments, etc. I have US and Canadian bank accounts and investments. Is it possible to move my massive database from Quicken USA to Quicken Canada?

According to our article on converting Quicken for Windows files, the answer is no, files cannot be converted between the Canadian and US versions: https://www.quicken.com/support/converting-your-data-quicken-windows/#:~:text=Quicken%20Canada,create%20a%20new%20data%20file. .

You may be able to move your transaction history to a new Quicken Canada file by exporting your data from the US file (for instructions, click here), then in the new file, navigating to File>File Import.

There is an idea post requesting that this ability be added. It is currently in planned status, meaning our teams do intend to implement it in the future, but there is no ETA.
