New 2013 user - where is the check register

I'm new to 2013 Quickens - I used Quickens 2001 for 25 years, but can't bring myself to pay $75 to $80 @ year!

I've loaded Quickens 2013, and I do have previous data, but I can't find a check register in 2013. Maybe my data didn't load correctly?

Before installing Quicken 2013, did you first upgrade to Quicken 2004? That must be done prior to upgrading to Quicken 2013. See this Support Article: https://www.quicken.com/support/how-and-when-use-intermediate-version-convert-older-versions-quicken/
