What to do when quicken duplicates bank accounts

We have several accounts on quicken and we have never synched with Chase Bank, until yesterday. I added a new Chase account to quicken and went through the process of initiating synching and uploading the banking information into quicken. I ended up with several duplicate bank accounts showing different balances! Some balances are accurate, others are way off. HELP!

IF you have a backup from "yesterday" (and you really should be backing up every day) then do a restore of "yesterday's" backup and start over. Simply work through the ADD Account process - nothing else - and set it up for downloading.

Now Quicken should find all the accounts at Chase that are under the User ID and Password that you used. If it does then carefully "LINK" them to your existing Quicken Chase Accounts, don't ADD them.

IF you have your Preferences set up for Automatic Entry of downloaded transactions into Quicken, then disable that before you do any of the above. The initial download should result in a bunch of older transactions that should be duplicates of transactions you've previously entered, so you want them isolated down in the Downloaded Transactions window where it's easy to see any duplicates.
